Burgundy's benchmark white-wine village — WineFortune tracks still Chardonnays here from village and Premier Cru sites
Meursault is a village appellation in the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy, France, and one of the world's reference points for white Burgundy. On WineFortune we track two wines from Meursault, both still whites under the AOP designation and both from a single producer; one of them is classified Premier Cru. Both wines are included in the WineFortune price index.
The village is planted almost entirely to Chardonnay. Limestone and marl soils and a continental climate give rich, textured dry whites, often fermented and aged in oak, with a savoury, nutty character. Meursault has no Grand Cru, but Premier Cru climats such as Perrières, Genevrières and Charmes stand at the top of its hierarchy.
WineFortune index prices are medians per 75 cl bottle, built from WineFortune's own trades and listings over 90 days. For Meursault no index median is currently shown, and there are no Meursault bottles in the shop at present.

Medians are the 90-day WineFortune index per 75cl, ex VAT, built from WineFortune trades and listings. Wines without a trade or listing are tracked but not indexed.

No. Meursault has village and Premier Cru vineyards but no Grand Cru. Premier Cru climats such as Perrières, Genevrières and Charmes are considered the finest sites of the appellation.
